Hi-Rez Expo 2018 – SWC Recap and Cosplay!

 

SMITE World Championship

This past weekend concluded the 4th annual SMITE World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia during the 2018 Hi-Rez Expo. It was a great night for the red, white and blue as two North American teams faced off against each other for the title of SMITE World Champions.

 

This year’s Hi-Rez Expo was PACKED.

The tournament’s eight screens provide the best viewing experience imaginable.

 

Team RivaL caused an upset when they defeated the reigning champs, EU team NRG eSports, in the semi-finals. RivaL went 3-2 in a best of 5 series against NRG but lost in the finals against eUnited.

 

The coveted SMITE World Championship Trophy!

 

eUnited had a strong showing all weekend, losing only one match (to RivaL in the finals no less) the entire tournament. This made them the second North American team to lift Thor’s hammer in victory since the tournament’s inception four years ago. They couldn’t be happier.

 

 

Cosplay Competition

There was also some impressive cosplaying at this year’s Hi-Rez Expo. Below are some of the best ones seen during the cosplay competition.

 

The Ao Kuang cosplay was top notch and won the cosplay competition.

 

There were a lot of Paladins cosplayers this year.

 

The cosplayer’s entrances were almost as badass as their costumes.

 

I love this Alley Cat Maeve cosplay.
